I will be competing in 10 events over the course of 2026, fundraising for Tusk Trust. Separate swimming, biking & running events as well as multiple triathlons combining all 3 disciplines. Events & dates listed below. Any donations are greatly appreciated

Finding my WHY?

Why Tusk? I have been lucky enough to have experienced 2 safaris. The first was with my wife before we had children, the second time we took our son; a kind, nature & animal loving little boy. During the safari he noticed that some of the Rhinos were missing their horns. We explained that they had been removed to protect them from poachers and this means they will be safe. He found this quite upsetting, why would anyone what to hurt them? We had become accustomed to this reality when we really shouldn't see it as normal. On that holiday the thought of fundraising for Tusk entered my mind. So that one day when my 2 boys are older, they can bring their children to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, safe from harm.

Why so many events? On the 21st September 2025 I became an Ironman in Tenby, Wales. I trained relentlessly for the event, 6 days a week for 9 months. It changed my life! Not wanting to lose my new found fitness I set sights on another, this time not just for my own personal goals but to also fundraise for a great cause. Each event has been chosen to help build momentum, culminating in my main event....Ironman Barcelona. I hope that this momentum is mirrored in the donations I receive so that I can hit my fundraising goal. Please donate what you can!

Not the time I set out to run. It became obvious pretty quickly that I wasn’t going to be able to run a 7.37per mile average not on this course. New goal was then to try as close to 8min mile average. I was close enough on what is actually quite a difficult course. Especially that bloody hill at the end!!! I did feel very strong on the day, very happy with fuelling. Just need to get more miles in the legs now. I’ll have another crack at it at the Cheltenham Half in September.

Since completing Ironman Wales back in September regular training dropped in intensity and frequency. I would however do regular maintenance rides and runs to keep fitness. In December I began slowly building the volume and during the Christmas break I started this giving page and my base building plan. A slight technical issue meant these training sessions didn't upload to this platform but as of next week these historic sessions should be pushed onto the page which will explain the sudden jump in distance covered. The Bath Half is just around the corner and it'll be a great test to see if the winter training has paid off.
